Better than a pint of black gold
StudioKMO has a pretty good thing going on. The line drawings, cutout maps, and diptychs of cities are intricate, delicate, and ridiculously cool. At some point in my life I need the diptych of Boston.
As a lover of maps, and a fan of Beantown, I am certain that owning this small piece of art will make my legs longer, my hair shinier, and I will be an overall better person for owning it. It’s amazing what the little things can do. A necessity, I tell you.
Speaking of being a better person, for the next couple of weeks, StudioKMO will be selling her line drawings of New Orleans for $35, and all proceeds will go to cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico, which is more than the fucktard nation that runs Best Petroleum is doing, let me tell you. And they’re pretty nifty, too: A long series of straight, vertical lines make up this drawing. Look closely, if you don’t believe me.
A beautiful gift. A good cause. Nothing better.
I am absolutely certain that owning that will make your hair shinier and legs longer.
Thank you for the hot tip! I will wait with baited breath for her Tokyo (as I am assuming it’s further up the list than Seoul).
what a creative idea! i love seeing just how varied the layout of cities around the world are. look at seattle compared to prague for example.
It *is* amazing to see in this context, Sarah! When she reduces the landscapes to cutouts or line drawings, it takes away all the outside noise and really lets you see how varied they are.
Stephanie, my legs are getting longer just thinking about it!
